Hope Hides A Yucky Secret

Just when I thought it was safe to hang around inside her cabin I find she has a case of ants. Big black ants. Saw one last night as we sat inside. I’m guessing they are carpenter ants but they don’t come with woodworking tools. They are quickly eating away at the bathroom subfloor and I suspect have been busy behind the scenes in all her walls.

So, after Cody left for school I took the termite killer and sprayed in as many places as I could. Completely soaking the bathroom floor and getting all the walls and open areas I could reach. Then I went outside and sprayed what I could of the windows and wheel wells. Then once I felt it was soaked enough I left it to dry. Later I set up three carpenter killing bug bombs - bathroom, bedroom, and front cabin. And I left those for the rest of the day until evening to air her out. 

Time will tell if those moves helped enough to slow their production and I’ll probably need to repeat the process several times before I start her actual renovation, just for my own piece of mind at least.
